Federal, State & Local Advocacy
Legislation impacting persons wtih developmental disabilities and their families is in constant flux.
It is therefore important for families to stay informed and involved in order to ensure the best possible understanding by their Federal, State and Local representatives of the need for support for these most vulnerable of our citizens.
The Arc offers the following advocacy support services for families:
- Email and other electronic alerts
- Explaining legislative initiatives in layman's terms
- Educating policy makers at the local level
- Working with Arc Florida and The Arc U.S. at the state and national levels
