MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor or Master degree preferred in early childhood, special education, psychology or related field (OT, PT, S/L, 2-3 years of experience working with children in either classroom, office or home-based setting with developmental focus. CPR and infant CPR training; current Florida driver license and auto insurance as well as the availability (or utilization) of personal transportation is required. Fluency in English as well as Spanish and/or Creole preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Promote the mission, values and vision of the Arc of Palm Beach County.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Arc and CSC policies,
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of:
- Child Development, both normal and abnormal,
- Assessment and Evaluation
- Planning and Intervention
- Family Professional Partnerships/Engagement
- Provides discrete ongoing appraisal of individual progress or lack thereof
- Provides discrete ongoing appraisal of individual progress or lack thereof
- Develop individualized treatment approaches based on observations, analysis and synthesis of individual available data.
- Conduct effective one-on-one sessions during which child, family member and/or caretaker is engaged and trained/educated in identified necessary developmental skills.
- Provide service in natural setting, in the context of the family’s typical routines and activities so that information is meaningful and directly relevant to supporting each individual child
- Provide parents with information and parenting strategies/interventions to support their management of developmental issues of concern and common behavior problems.
- Identify quality community resources and provide referrals and follow-up as appropriate to foster community connections.
