Palm Beach, FL: -- The Arc of Palm Beach County's Jewels and Jeans Cowboy Ball was a night to remember, filled with bejeweled beauties and charming cowboys who came together to raise $175,000 for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Hosted by WPTV's Jay Cashmere, who also co-chaired the event with his wife, Kelly, this year's glittering gala was thrilling from beginning to end.
The lavish evening featured a spectacular silent auction, fabulous barbecue, wild casino action and an exciting live auction that included a fabulous Gardens Mall gift certificate, a trip to Vail, a once-in-a-lifetime Honda Classic experience and a yachting excursion, and culminated in a bidding war for a fabulous trip to Belize. Everyone also had the unique opportunity to meet and mingle with Arc clients and their families, and develop a deeper understanding about how their donations are utilized. Some of the agency's adult clients were on hand with their one-of-a-kind handmade mosaics, which they presented to Paul Martinelli and Bobby Campbell to thank them for their continued support of the agency. Jason L., The Arc's Youth Ambassador, was also there with his family who spoke about the progress he has made thanks to The Arc's Potentials Charter School. Jason's excited smile warmed the entire audience as he demonstrated how he is learning to stand. Jason's mother, Kim, was moved to tears more than once during the evening, explaining "I can't believe that everyone is here for Jason and all of the clients at The Arc. The Arc has done so much for him and all of the other students in Potentials – it's so moving to see hundreds of people coming together to help make that happen."
This spectacular event would not have been possible without Honorary Chairs Paul and Kelly Martinelli, Co-Chairs Jay and Kelly Cashmere, Sapphire Sponsors ADT Security Systems, Brian and Tara Evans, The Gardens Mall and TBC Corporation; Emerald Sponsors Chip and Trina Armstrong, BBC International, First Republic Bank and Varick and Alane Foster; Table Sponsors Jay and Carol Dewing, Celedinas Insurance and Mary Bryant McCourt; and Donors JVC Broadcasting Palm Beach, The Breakers, The Honda Classic, and Melanie Jacobson and Dr. Jeffrey Katzell. We are grateful to them and to everyone who took part in this wonderful event.
